On March 18, the City of Bakersfield hosted the first workshop to support the planning and development of SOAR Bakersfield. The workshop provided an overview of the project and planning process and engaged participants in identifying opportunities they'd like to see implemented to improve quality of life and build a more resilient City.

On June 24, 2025, the City of Bakersfield hosted a virtual SOAR Bakersfield community workshop. Participants received an update on the project and progress to date, explored key characteristics of a sustainable and resilient city, and provided specific feedback on potential actions while sharing new ideas they'd like to see implemented in Bakersfield.
