SOAR Bakersfield intends to prioritize the well-being of all Bakersfield communities, while also focusing on supporting those facing disproportionate environmental and economic challenges.

The City is developing SOAR Bakersfield with support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program. This funding enables the City to explore climate planning strategies that align with local needs and priorities without committing to specific targets or metrics. The process provides an opportunity to explore sustainable and resilient approaches that support communities.
